About NostalgiaNow

NostalgiaNow is an independent video-discovery, enhancement and community platform. It may offer embedded videos, viewing histories, playlists, favourites, restoration requests, polls and member communication features. Features may change as the service develops. NostalgiaNow is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube, Google, record labels or rights holders unless explicitly stated. These Terms operate alongside our Privacy, Community, Cookies and Copyright policies.

Acceptance of Terms

By creating or using a member account, you agree to these Terms and separately to the Community Guidelines, and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. We may record policy version, acceptance time and the account ID. Acceptance does not constitute consent to optional cookies, marketing or promotional use of submissions; those choices are separate and optional. If you disagree with these Terms, do not register or continue using account-only functions.

Eligibility and Registration

Members must be at least 16 years old and satisfy applicable local legal requirements. Only one personal account per person is permitted unless authorised staff grant an exception. Registration details must be accurate and kept reasonably current. Verification may be required, although authorised staff may approve accounts manually where justified. Duplicate accounts to circumvent bans or manipulate votes are prohibited. Registration may be refused where reasonably necessary to address fraud, abuse or security risks.

Account Security and Recovery

Members must take reasonable steps to protect credentials, avoid knowingly sharing access, and promptly report suspected compromise. Following suitable identity checks, authorised staff may help recover access using a securely generated temporary password or another approved recovery method. Temporary credentials must expire, be single-use where supported and require the member to set a new password. Actual passwords and temporary password values must never appear in administrative audit logs. Additional verification or temporary restrictions may be applied to protect an account.

Website Features and Member Services

Available features may include video browsing and playback, Continue Watching, Watch History, favourites, playlists, restoration requests, polls, notifications, profiles, and chat when launched. Some require authentication. Members may manage eligible history and preferences using available controls. Not all proposed functions are available at all times. Reasonable usage limits and eligibility rules may apply to protect reliability and service integrity.

YouTube and Third-Party Services

NostalgiaNow may use the YouTube embedded player and other third-party services. Viewing YouTube content is subject to applicable YouTube terms and Google policies. Video availability, advertising, embed controls, geographical restrictions and interruptions are outside our full control. Embedding does not give NostalgiaNow ownership of third-party audiovisual content. See the Privacy and Cookies Policies for information about related processing and technologies.

Intellectual Property and Member Submissions

Copyright and other rights in third-party music, footage, artwork and recordings remain with their owners; restoration and upscaling do not eliminate those rights. Members must have sufficient rights to submit material. Members retain ownership of their original eligible submissions and give NostalgiaNow a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, reproduce, format, display and moderate them to operate requested services. Promotional reuse is SEPARATE AND OPTIONAL: only submissions covered by the member's affirmative, changeable promotional opt-in may be used in new promotion. The default is opt-out. Private messages, private profile data and non-public records are never automatically included. Withdrawing the opt-in stops new promotional use; previously distributed material will be addressed in accordance with applicable rights and practical limits. Submitting content does not transfer ownership. Rights complaints follow the Copyright & Takedown Policy.

Community Participation, Voting and Restoration Requests

The Community Guidelines govern requests, polls, chat and other member contributions. Restoration requests may be approved, edited, combined, rejected, closed or removed by authorised staff, and do not guarantee restoration or publication. Voting limits and eligibility may be customised per poll. Manipulation through bots, duplicate accounts or deception is prohibited. Where the feature allows, members choose whether their name appears publicly next to their vote; necessary individual vote records may still be reviewed by authorised staff to investigate abuse.

Acceptable Use

Members must not harass, threaten, impersonate, defraud, spam, disclose others' private information without authorisation, distribute unlawful or infringing material, compromise accounts or systems, circumvent restrictions, manipulate voting, or misuse reports and appeals. Automated access that unreasonably burdens the service may be limited. Members must not attempt to circumvent restrictions imposed by YouTube or other services. See the Community Guidelines for further conduct rules.

Moderation, Suspensions and Enforcement

Staff with appropriate permissions may warn members, remove content, restrict specific features, temporarily suspend, indefinitely suspend pending investigation, or permanently ban accounts. Serious suspected abuse, fraud, threats, unlawful activity or security risk may warrant immediate action without advance warning. In exceptional cases an account may be deleted without the normal notice process where necessary, proportionate and lawful; preservation of legally necessary evidence and privacy rights still applies. Where appropriate and safe, reasons, duration and appeal routes will be notified by email and in-account notice. Details may be withheld if disclosure would endanger investigations or security. Consequential staff actions require an audit reason.

Appeals and Complaints

Members may challenge moderation decisions using the stated appeal channel. New evidence or materially changed circumstances may justify further appeals; repeated abusive or identical submissions without new information may be managed or restricted. Where practical, someone other than the original decision-maker should review an appeal. Account restrictions will not remove appropriate alternative routes for appeals or privacy requests. Legal rights to contact regulators and courts remain unaffected.

Administrative Powers and Accountability

Authorised staff may manage accounts, videos, community requests, recovery, moderation and settings within permissions assigned to custom staff roles. Sensitive activities should have specific authorisation, mandatory MFA for staff and second-person approval for critical actions when those protections are implemented. Staff must act for legitimate purposes, respect confidentiality and enter a reason for material edits. Actions and access to sensitive investigations may be logged. Long-term identifiable audits require an appropriate lawful basis, restricted access and retention review; no staff member receives unrestricted access merely by holding an administrative title.

Account Inactivity, Closure and Deletion

After 12 months without a successful member sign-in, an account may enter an inactivity-deletion process. The intended schedule is three reminders two weeks apart: at the 12-month threshold, two weeks later, and four weeks later. If the account remains inactive, deletion may begin approximately six weeks after the first reminder, subject to effective notices, reasonable opportunity to retain the account, individual circumstances, lawful holds and completion of the required technical workflow. Signing in normally cancels the inactivity process. Members may also request eligible account deletion without a mandatory recovery waiting period. Lawfully necessary limited information may be retained for specified security, investigation or legal purposes, but inclusion in an audit log alone does not authorise indefinite retention.

Service Availability and Changes

NostalgiaNow will take reasonable steps to maintain service reliability and security, but cannot promise uninterrupted, error-free or permanently available services or third-party videos. Maintenance, outages, legal restrictions and external provider changes may affect the platform. We may add, modify, restrict or discontinue features; where practicable we will provide notice of substantial changes.

Liability and Legal Rights

Community and third-party content may not always be accurate, complete or available, and should not be treated as authoritative professional advice. To the extent legally permitted, NostalgiaNow is not responsible for losses arising solely from events beyond its reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where exclusion is prohibited, or any other responsibility that cannot legally be excluded. Mandatory consumer and other statutory rights are preserved.

Complaints, Contact and Changes to These Terms

Members can use published channels for support, privacy, copyright and other complaints. Material changes will normally be communicated in advance where practicable and may require fresh acceptance of the relevant Terms or Guidelines. Urgent security or legal changes may take effect sooner with appropriate notice. The active version and effective date will appear on the published page. The dedicated support, privacy and copyright contact routes must be completed before these Terms take effect.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are intended to be subject to the law applicable in the jurisdiction in which the service is legally operated, without removing mandatory protections that apply to members elsewhere. Disputes and remedies remain subject to applicable jurisdictional rules. The specific governing law, legally required operator identity and appropriate contact disclosures must be confirmed before publication; this neutral wording is not a substitute for mandatory disclosures.
